Welp. Here’s another form rejection I received on 6/22/2026. This is rejection number three for this story this year. By this point, I’ve come to realize that I really appreciate when the rejection letters state the name of the story somewhere in the rejection letter itself. It helps me keep everything organized. I didn’t realize how important this is until this year when I started really tracking my rejections.
I submitted this again on July 19th. Why the wait? Well, surgery recovery, lol. Just as my blog posts sort of tapered off when I couldn’t schedule posts because I was too out of everything to do stuff, submissions suffered too.
Admittedly, I might have had to wait anyway. I’ve found many markets alternate what months they accept submissions, so I might have had to wait for July anyway. I’ve not gotten a personalized rejection for this story at all, so there’s always that part of me that wonders if I shouldn’t be revising it, but at some point, I have to be done with these stories.
This one is what it is at this point. I’m done revising. I’m hoping I can find it a home. I’m confident I can. Never give up. Never give in!
Note on letter images: I have here and will always black out the name of the market and the name of the person who sent the letter. These posts are not meant to speak about the publications at all. These are about my reactions to the letters and what I can learn from them.
